APF solidarity with striking Shoprite-Checkers workers

APF AFFILIATES & MEMBERS BUILD SOLIDARITY WITH STRIKING WORKERS

Workers in the contract cleaning industry and at Shoprite Checkers are on strike for wages since the beginning of August. There are other workplaces on strike. They need your urgent solidarity. It is not easy, but we have no other weapon against the bosses and their profit system. For the last ten years the bosses quietly increased their profits, stealing workers labour - hidden and protected from working class demands and struggle. Now, workers fight back. Yet again, we see the ugly face of the bosses profit system:

- Police and Red Ants that shoot and intimidate strikers;
- Judges and laws that weaken the right to strike and picket;
- Bosses at Shoprite Checkers who earn R59 million in just one year.

Comrades, this is the same capitalist class that evicts us and benefits from privatisation; the same laws, judges & police that attack our marches & needs

- Discuss these struggles in your affiliate and community meetings
- Boycott Shoprite Checkers
- Strengthen the strike pickets and invite strikers to address our meetings
- Organise ways to have regular contact with the strikers
